Coming January 2013…. BOC will introduce something new: CDME™

BOC is excited to announce the introduction to  CDME™!

What is CDME™?

The CDME™, or Certified Durable Medical Equipment Specialist™, is the newest certification from BOC.

The CDME™ leverages BOC’s expertise in the certification field with our knowledge of the DME industry, which we’ve acquired through our DMEPOS accreditation program.

What does a CDMETM do?

The CDME™ serves as technical personnel to deal with equipment delivery, set up, and patient education, without any physical contact with the patient. The CDME™ handles basic repairs and troubleshooting of DME products.

The CDME™ prevents fraud, waste, and abuse of products, provides home inspections, and ensures home safety. Examples of products about which a CDME™ is knowledgeable include: oxygen, transfer systems, enteral supplies, wound care supplies,

Why should I have A CDME™ on my staff?

• Differentiation in the market
• Management of risk
• Criteria for evaluating potential employees
• Limiting of fraud, waste, and abuse
• Increase in customer satisfaction
• Assurance for referral sources
• Medicare human resource management standards require that technical personnel be knowledgeable, competent, and trained in order to deliver products. A CDMETM will provide additional assurance of compliance.
